Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College offers a New Century Skills Scholarship to students completing a 2-year program and enrolling as a first-time college student in any major.  A full-tuition scholarship is available for an overall 3.5 GPA, and a half-tuition scholarship is available for an overall 3.0 GPA.  See additional information at link to MGCCC.

National Technical Honor Society membership is available to students that maintain an overall 3.25 GPA, a 90 average in their program, are a member of their CTE student organization, and exemplify honesty, good attendance, good character, leadership, and responsibility.  NTHS honors the achievements of top CTE students, provides scholarships to encourage the pursuit of higher education, and cultivates excellence in today’s highly competitive, skilled workforce. 

Mississippi Tech Master Scholars recognition is given to students that complete a 2-year CTE program and a prescribed academic curriculum, attain an ACT composite of 18 or higher, maintain a 2.5 GPA, contribute 80 hours of community service, pass the MS CPAS test, and exemplify good attendance and discipline.  See the CTE counselor for additional information.

Students completing a 2-year program have the opportunity to earn two E-2 credits.  Engineering 2 is weighted as two E-2 credits automatically.  Carpentry, Health Science, Welding, Precision Machining, Auto Tech, and BMF students earn E-2 credits by passing thier natinal certification exams.  Educator Prep studnets earn E2 credits by meeting board-approved requirements (see the Ed Prep page for specific details).  Completion of Health Science 2 or Engineering 2  counts as 2 science credits toward graduation.  Completion of Business Marketing & Finance 2 meets the graduation requirement for .5 Economics credit.  Completion of any 2-year program counts an one advanced elective toward the College Prep Curriculum.
